DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XI) DEALING WITH THE SPIRIT OF PERVERSION)

If there is any time that Christians should know the truth, it is now. If there is any time to stop playing Church, it is now. If there is any time to consolidate your relationship with God, it is now. Every student of prophecy knows that Jesus is coming soon. There is no better life than that which is lived in line with the revealed will of God. Anything that is trying to pull you out of the will of God is your number one enemy. The will of God is the best for you; you cannot find anything better elsewhere.

The Spirit of perversion is a wicked and dangerous spirit; it is a crafty spirit, a seductive spirit, a derailing spirit, a defiling spirit, a thieving spirit and a destructive spirit. Gen. 2:16-17 “For the Lord God gave the man this warning: “You may eat any fruit in this garden except fruit from the Tree of Conscience – for its fruit will open your eyes to make you aware of right and wrong, good and bad. If you eat its fruit, you will be doomed to die”. A perfect God created a perfect environment and then created a perfect man whom he placed in that perfect environment with only one law. God gave man the Lord tenancy over the garden and even gave him the authority to name everything in the garden and whatever name he gave, it became. Gen. 3:1-4 “The serpent was the craftiest of all the creatures the Lord God had made. So the serpent came to the woman, “Really?” He asked. “None of the fruit in the garden? God says you mustn’t eat any of it?” “Of course we may eat it, the woman told him. It is only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not to eat. God says we mustn’t eat it or even touch it, or we will die. That’s a lie! The serpent hissed. You’ll not die!” This is the origin of perversion of the word of God. The only thing the snake did was to create doubt and an enabling environment for perversion. Once you start doubting the word of God, you will end up perverting it. Take note of the following: –

  1. It is your responsibility to fence off every snake from the garden. Every garden attracts snake and as such, you need to plant anti-snake in your garden. The first garden you need to pay attention to is the garden of your heart. The heart is a garden. The Bible says “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”. Prov. 4:23. The second garden is your home. The third garden you must take care of is your business/carreer. When you get to this garden of the field, you must be prepared for snakes, and wild beasts; as you are stepping out of your home, you must be ready to contend not only with snakes but also sharks, eagles, dogs, lions and other crawling things. Many times, Christians are not well fortified in this area so they get consumed by the things they should walk in dominion over. Your ministry is a garden. Perversion comes most from the garden of the field, the business or carreer arena. It is in this area that you should expect perversion the most. The business arena is an uncharted sea, a free for all arena where all manner of people operate.
  2. The snake was never meant for the garden, it is a beast of the field. Where was Adam when the snake entered into the garden? Adam had the sole responsibility of fencing off the snake. There are certain things that women are not supposed to handle but unfortunately, most homes have been abandoned to women. Many men have abdicated their responsibilities. Jesus said “But while men (not women) slept, his enemy came and sowed tares …”. Man has been sleeping from the Garden of Eden. When Adam saw Eve frolicking with the snake, what should have been his reaction? How did the snake enter the garden in the first place? Where was the attention? Where was Adam when the snake entered? Most homes are devoid of anti-snake. The man leaves home very early in the morning to chase his business and comes back late in the night very tired. There is no family altar, no fire. Do you know that anything you chase will always be ahead of you? Abdication of priesthood responsibility – removing your eyes from the ball for just one moment, is very dangerous. The Bible did not say when you break the hedge snake will enter but that when you break the hedge snake will bite. What does this imply? It means that the snake is already lurking around the hedge preparing to bite. Men, please start active family altars in your homes, you must take up that responsibility because if anything goes wrong, you are the one that God will hold accountable. Leadership is responsibility, leadership is for direction, leadership is headship. The world is upside down today because of irresponsibility of man.
