What The Bible Says About Hell

• It is a place of sorrow, regret and gnashing of teeth and it is eternal. Matt. 8:11-12, “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth”.
• There are worms that eat the body there. Mark 9:43-44 “And if thy hand offend thee, cut if off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched”. It is a place of worms that never dies. These worms are eternal creatures, as such they cannot die. Their duty is to make man miserable in hell.
• It is a place of total darkness. There is no flicker or trace of light there. It is the headquarters of darkness, utter darkness not partial darkness.
• It is meant for sinners who reject Jesus or do not completely turn away from sin. Rev. 21:7-8 “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”. Hell is meant for such people. These are people who exercised their will in wrong choices and in wrong decisions by allowing their will to be controlled by the evil one. This should answer those who postulate that God cannot allow human beings to go to hell. For every decision, there is a price to pay, there is a consequence. All the decisions and thoughts we generate on a daily basis are either pro-heaven or pro-hell, that is the reason why you must take care of the garden of your heart on a daily basis. When you are addressing the issues of your heart, you must do it properly. The heart is the garden. Every tragedy can be traced to one instruction not obeyed, it can be traced to wrong choices, in other words, it can be traced to the garden of the heart. Man fell first in the garden of the heart before falling in the Garden of Eden. There is no temptation that can overwhelm you if your heart condition is right. That is why Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”. What are you entertaining in your heart? You must fence off the snake before it toasts and seduces you by sowing the seed of deception, derailment and then end up removing the glory. The glory of God can never be found in a sinful environment. Sin cuts short the glory. What obtains in a sinful environment is glamour. You must be able to differentiate between the two. There is nothing that the enemy has not tried to pervert, glamour is glory perverted.
