DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XVIII) THE HEADQUARTERS OF DARKNESS
What The Bible Says About Hell
- There will be complete memory of sins and lost opportunities while on earth. It is a place of ‘had I known’, a place of regret, lost opportunities forever gone. That regret might be part of what causes weeping and not necessarily the physical torment alone. Luke 16:25 says, “But Abraham said, son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented”. This is the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Lazarus died and went to Abraham’s bossom; the rich man also died and went to hell. Every passing moment presents us with opportunities to lay treasures in heaven, and invest in things that have eternal value; opportunity to touch lives, opportunity to win souls, opportunity to minister, and opportunity to be a blessing to others. How often do we allow such opportunities to slip? What people are busy doing now is amassing things that do not have eternal value. Remember the story of the rich man that wanted to be a disciple of Jesus. After his dialogue with Jesus, Jesus told him to go and sell all that he had. The man found this very difficult to do, so he left. Jesus told us to lay treasures in heaven because he knows that it is for our own good, he wants us to have our resources accredited properly in heaven and to position ourselves for eternal bliss. The system of the world is structured in such a way that if you are not careful, you might pursue money to the grave. Unfortunately, the only place where you need money is here. You must be able to sit yourself down and ask ‘how much money do I really need to be comfortable here?’ What makes people to accumulate and keep on accumulating is one of the lies the devil tells people. The devil tells people that the more money they have the more joyful they will be. Joy cannot be purchased with money. Money is very good and it is good to have it. Money is a weapon you can unleash for better investments, it is a potent weapon and that is why the devil concentrates it in the hands of terrible people who will use it wrongly to further his kingdom. However, money in the hands of a righteous person is a powerful weapon that can make the person’s life more impactful and more fruitful. The Bible says, the love of money is the root of all evil. 1 Tim. 6:10b. The love of money is terrible, it is good to have money but it is a terrible thing for money to have you. You must imbibe the secret of owning nothing. You have money but you don’t own it, the owner is God. When you dedicate everything he gives you back to him, you will be free. The Bible says, “And he said unto them, take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth”, Luke 12:15. In the realm of the spirit, life is a continuum. The spirit of ‘let us alone’ is a bad spirit. You cannot be a true child of God and be a liberal. True Christianity is conservative because the God we are serving is the ancient of days. Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever ( Heb. 13 :8 KJV ). A lot of Pastors no longer preach messages that prepare people for heaven; instead, they are busy preaching liberal theology. If you stop preparing people for heaven, they will end up in hell. Because man’s will is a fallen thing, if it is allowed to choose on its own, it is likely to choose wrongly. Yield your will to Jesus Christ.
