BLESSED BEYOND CURSE (PART 5F) – ESCAPE FROM EGYPT

The sea and mountain (both physical and spiritual) will see the presence of God in you and flee. That is the secret of sweatless victories. Just because you have made God your sanctuary, you are now a mobile ark; you are a carrier of the very presence of God. The presence of God is for your ultimate benefit and the moment you understand this, your life will change. Your priorities will change and your prayers will begin to fly, before you finish praying, God will answer. You will cease from fighting useless battles and victories will become the order of the day. Who or what can defeat one who is united with God? No one but you!

This same Moses, God used to liberate the children of Israel. They came out of Egypt with Pharaoh in hot pursuit but God did wonders at the sea and the children of Israel crossed over in a great display of God’s power while their Egyptian pursuers were drowned. The same children of Israel that saw this great display of God’s power soon forgot all that he did for them and they started grumbling, they started murmuring, they started taking God for granted. They angered God so much so that in the process, they made Moses to err. The evil inheritance in Moses was the banana peel that ensured that he did not get to the promised land.

What was this evil inheritance? Anger. From where did Moses inherit this? Anger was a generational curse that followed Moses. See Genesis 49:5-7, “Simeon and Levi are two of a kind. They are men of violence and injustice. O my soul, stay away from them. May I never be a party to their wicked plans. For in their anger they murdered a man and maimed oxen just for fun. Cursed be their anger, for it is fleece and cruel. Therefore, I will scatter their descendants throughout Israel.” This is Jacob speaking while blessing his children one after the other and this is more of a curse. Moses was from the tribe of Levi; he was not there when this curse was pronounced but he inherited it.

Look inwards. What are the banana peels that you are carrying? What evil inheritance are you carrying? What are the things that you inherited from your forefathers? One is enough to stop you from entering into your inheritance – the wonderful inheritance that God has for you.

Num. 27:12-17, One day the Lord said to Moses, Go up into Mount Abarim and look across the river to the land I have given to the people of Israel. After you have seen it, you shall die as Aaron your brother did, for you rebelled against my instructions in the wilderness of Zin. When the people of Israel rebelled, you did not glorify me before them by following my instructions to order water to come out of the rock. He was referring to the incident at the waters of Meribah (Place of strife) in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin. Then Moses said to the Lord, O Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all mankind, (before I am taken away) please appoint a new leader for the people, a man who will lead them into battle and care for them, so that the people of the Lord will not be a sheep without a shepherd.”

PRAY:- Heavenly father I worship you. I thank you for the many provisions you have made in your word for my well- being. Grant me the grace to be complete in obedience to the leading and promptings of the Holy Spirit. Remove far from me any thing that is capable of stopping me from making it to the promised land. I proclaim that I have a wonderful inheritance. I am blessed beyond curse. Amen
