Sunday service

We all have something that is driving us. According to Ephesians chapter 4 verse 30, God has sealed us with his Holy Spirit. “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” Everybody has a seal and if it is not the seal of the Holy Spirit, then, it is another seal and whatever seals you is the spirit that you manifest. Seal by itself has a connotation of limitation. When something is sealed, it means that nothing can be added or removed from it. Some destinies are already sealed by some spirits. God wants his children to be sealed unto the day of redemption that is the reason why he has put his seal of the Holy Spirit upon us as a mark of his ownership.

1 Chro. 4:9-10 says, “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” Jabez means sorrow. The circumstances of the birth of Jabez led his mother to put a seal upon him and called his name Jabez. Whenever his name was mentioned, it was a reminder of the circumstances of his birth. The Living Bible calls it ‘distress’, either way, it connotes pain, it connotes unsatisfactoriness of things. For the rest of his life, Jabez was tagged; that was his identity. Seals define destinies and destinations.

The good news is that you can break through to a blessed life irrespective of the circumstances of your birth, irrespective of the circumstances surrounding the location where you come from. However, if you accommodate it, then, it becomes your tenant. Jabez rose up and said, ‘yes, it is true that my mother gave birth to me in sorrow but that was not my making and that is not enough reason to define my destiny’. Jabez rose up and did something spectacular. You should be angry with any present unpleasant situation for a true change that will transform your lot to occur. If you acquiesce, that seal will stay, if you surrender, tolerate or accommodate it, that seal will not change. You have to be angry with the present situation of things in order to have a glorious tomorrow. Confront your present unsatisfactoriness of things in order to have a glorious turn around. Change does not come to people who do nothing; change does not come to people who have resigned to fate. Change comes to people who have made up their mind to press into it.

PRAY;- Heavenly Father I thank You for the generous provisions You have made for my well being through Your Son Jesus Christ. Thank You for putting Your seal of the Holy Spirit on me as a mark of Your ownership. Grant me the grace to press into the glorious future You have designed for me I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
