BUILD ON SOLID ROCK

“All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents, and the floods rise and the storm winds beat against his house, it won’t collapse, for it is built on rock. But those who hear my instructions and ignore them are foolish, like a man who builds the house on sand. For when the rains and floods come, and storm winds beat against his house, it will fall with a mighty crash” Mark 7:24-27 TLB.

What differentiates a wise person from a fool is their response to instructions. The instructions you obey determine the future you create. Every tragedy in life is traceable to an instruction not obeyed. Instructions define destinations. Instructions determine destinies. Instructions are meant to be obeyed. What is your attitude to the WORD OF GOD? If there is any instruction to be ignored should it be the one given by ‘THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE?’

It is very easy to be influenced by popular opinions. Believers often face the pressure to conform and drift away from God, following their own ideas on the latest fads and fashions. When that happens, they find themselves falling away from the faith, and filled with fear and doubt.

Storms of life come in varying degrees, shapes and sizes. Our greatest safeguard is the WORD OF GOD. Make the word of God your life manual. Make it the foundation of your life. You will not be tossed about by the evil storm of humanistic philosophies. A strong consciousness of God’s word is critical to keep us from straying.

Dearly beloved, there is a strong shaking coming. Everything in this world will be shaken. Those that have their hearts in wrong places or things will develop heart failure; but those that trust in the Lord shall be like Mount Zion which cannot be moved. The storm that sink many will lift them. Their ship shall be like the ark of Noah.

Jesus taught us to build on solid rock. 1 Cor 10:4 KJV “And did all drink the same spiritual drink; for they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ”. Also according to John 1:14 Jesus is the incarnate WORD, “And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth”

ACTION POINT

• Give your life to Christ. Build on solid rock. Say the simple prayer below:

• Dear Heavenly Father, I worship you. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Please have mercy on me and forgive all my sins. Jesus Christ son of the Living God, I unreservedly surrender my life to you. I confess that you died and rose from the dead for me. Please be my Lord and personal saviour, and grant me grace to live for you all the days of my life. Thank you so much, Lord Jesus. I proclaim I am born again. Amen.

PRAYER

• Eternal Rock of Ages, Mighty God, The Most High, I worship you. I thank you for your Word, May your name forever be magnified. Empower me to be complete in obedience to your Word and promptings of the Holy Spirit. Grant me the grace to stand on your Word and according to your principle, in Jesus name. AMEN

DECLARATION

May the Lord establish you in a way that will surprise everybody, and may your testimony draw many souls to Christ, in Jesus name. Amen.
