OPERATION 18:18

2020/2021 OPERATION 18-18 DAY 9A (SEVEN REASONS WHY JESUS CAME)

The greatest gift and miracle to humanity, God became man so that he can save man. We do not celebrate Christmas, we celebrate Jesus Christ. Frankly speaking, we don’t have to wait till 25th December to celebrate Jesus. Every passing day, any time you write the date, you are saying that Jesus Christ came. We celebrate him on a daily basis.

If you really study church history, you will find out that a lot has happened and a lot of idolatry came into the church and became syncretic (mixture of spirits). The truth is that God never told us the day Jesus Christ was born. Maybe it is not necessary because God has not called us to be worshippers of day but the worshippers of Jehovah. As a matter of fact, some church history has it that 25th of December was the birthday of Tamuz, the adulterous son of Queen Semiramis and Nimrod the mighty man. That’sancient Babylon brought into the church and institutionalized. It was during the time of Emperor Constantine, over three hundred years after the death of Jesus Christ that all these things started. The church became united with the world. The revelation of Jesus Christ is deeper than what people are celebrating. Guess who celebrates Christmas most? Pagans. 25th December is deeply rooted in idolatry. We are not celebrating Christmas but we are celebrating Jesus Christ who died to set us free. We are going to discuss the reasons he came and then download the blessings and pray into them so we can maximize the benefits of his coming. The apostles never marked 25th of December, there was nothing like that in their time. We do not celebrate the day of his coming but we celebrate the fact of his coming. We celebrate his person and what he did. We celebrate his person because he is the essence and the substance of our faith. He is the author and the finisher of our faith.

SEVEN REASONS WHY JESUS CAME

  1. To save sinners.
He came to save us from sin. Everyone that is born of woman has sinned. The bible said that if we say that we have not sinned, we make God a liar. The bible says that all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. Adam brought sin into the world but Jesus Christ came to correct and to make the saints out of us sinners. We were sinners but Christ came to lift us from the three powerful P’s of sin. The presence of sin, the power of sin and the penalty of sin. It took the grace of God to send his son. God became man in order to make a sinful man, a saint to be with him and to be part and parcel of his household. We need to know this so we can celebrate life. 1 Timothy 1:15 “this is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief”. Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, everyone born of a woman. I want us to celebrate it. He is not only our savior from sin, he saves from the presence of sin, the power of sin and the penalty of sin. He is the mediator between God and man. What sin does is that it cuts the glory of God short. Jesus came to restore the glory. Celebrate Jesus.
