SEVEN REASONS WHY JESUS CAME
5. Jesus came to fulfil the promise of the Father according to Genesis 3:15.
He is the fulfilment of the law and prophet. Everything that is written from Genesis to revelation is all about Jesus. He is the revealed will of God that was made flesh. The first Messianic prophecy was found in Gen 3:15 and was fulfilled on the cross. The seed of a woman crushed the leviathan. The seven heads of leviathan were crushed on the cross by the seed of a woman. Jesus has given us the crushing power. He said in Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. In Christ Jesus, we are seated above principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world. The lord said to my lord, sit thou at my right hand till I make your enemies your foot stool (Psalm 110:1).
PRAY
- Give God praise and say, Lord I thank you, I magnify your name. I thank you that I am connected to you. In you I live, move and have my being. Through you I shall do valiantly. Blessed be you name in Jesus name.
6. He came to destroy the works of the devil according to 1 John 3:8.
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil”.
The Greek word for the word destroy is katalyō (καταλύω). Katalyō means to reduce to naught, to nullify, to neutralize, to throw down. Is there any work of the devil operating in your life? Jesus has come to reduce it to nothing.
