Keys for Fruitfulness

2. Throw away your idols cont’d.
You are not successful if you are not fulfilling the purpose of God for your destiny. Anyone who is not fulfilling the purposive will of God for his or her life is actually succeeding to fail even if such a person becomes a multi billionaire. Idolatry makes the heaven to close. Jer. 14:20-22, “We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee. Do not abhor us, for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us. Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.” When the heavens are closed, there is not much you can do. When the heavens are closed all your prayers will bounce back. If the heavens are closed, there will be no rain; dryness, famine, scarcity, lack, poverty set in. Such a person will lack ideas and will not get any signal, when the person transmits, it bounces back when the heavens are closed. Nothing makes the heaven to close like idolatry. That is one of the problems African nations are battling with. People think they can jettison God and still ask him to bless their resources. God does not work that way. If he is not the Lord in all, he is not the Lord at all. Deut. 28:14-68 highlights all manner of curses of disobedience. Wherever you find idolatry, there will be curses. The paradoxes prevalent in Africa are all evidences of the impact of idolatry; even when there are natural resources, such resources become a curse. Wherever there is perversion, there is disobedience, distortion, distress, diversion, deception, delusion and destruction.

3. Feast on the word of God. Let it be your food.
There is the food dimension of the word that a lot of Christians don’t ever get to appreciate. The muscle you feed is the one that gets developed. There is no better food than the word; the word of God is the food that your spirit man needs in order to exercise dominion over the forces of darkness. The nutrients contained in the word of God cannot be found elsewhere. Josh. 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Psa. 1:1-3, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate say and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” If you don’t have the word of God inside of you, the world will definitely deceive you.

  • Heavenly Father I worship and adore you. Graciously empower me by your spirit to always meditate on your word day and night so that I may have comprehensive success here and hereafter.
