Jer. 27:18 says, “But if there be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem go not to Babylon.” Babylon is the world system, the world order. When Simon the sorcerer saw how people were receiving the Holy Spirit through laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money in order to get the power of the Holy Spirit.
