OVERTHROWING THE THRONE OF INIQUITY IV
You must learn to hate what God hates otherwise, you may be enticed. What many people call promotion today is actually demotion in the end. What people call opportunity most of the time ends up being leprosy. Unfortunately, these things are no longer being taught in the Church. If you want to make heaven, you must be very discerning.
Pray –
- Heavenly Father, make it impossible for me to ascend any throne that is not the throne of righteousness in the name of Jesus Christ. Help me never to ascend any throne of iniquity in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I yield my will to the will of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, I belong to you forever; my destiny is sealed in your finished work on the cross of Calvary. You are my Lord, the Lord my Shepherd. Guide me through the skillfulness of your hand to my allotted inheritance in you in the name of Jesus.
- You have gone to prepare a place for me, please prepare me for that place. Where you are is where I want to be, lead me and guide me by your spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I repent of any influence of idolatry over my life, ancestral idolatry, idolatry of tribe, nepotism, primitive idolatry or modern day idolatry. I repent and overthrow every idol in my heart. I overthrow every throne of iniquity in the name of Jesus.
- I renounce idolatry in all its ramifications. Grant me the grace, Lord, to walk with you in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, as a nation, we stand in the gap and ask for mercy over our nation. Forgive the iniquity of idolatry. Lord, please have mercy, we acknowledge our shortcomings, we acknowledge our failures, we acknowledge the corporate sin of idolatry. Have mercy O God in Jesus’ name.
Thrones are altars and have ruling spirits which may be righteous or evil.
“And Jehoash did what was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him. But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places”.
2 Kings 12:2-3 KJV
Jehoash did not muster the courage to overthrow the high places, the shrines in spite of the fact that the throne was set up on the righteous guidance of a priest who guided and mentored him. Today, we need guiding priests.
“In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhaded the son of Hazael, all their days”.
2 Kings 13:1-3 KJV
Here, we see a throne of iniquity. Why was his throne established in iniquity? He was linked to Jeroboam who built evil temples with golden calves in Bethel and Dan so that his people will no longer go to Jerusalem to worship God. That is what happens when people fail to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit either out of ambition or when they decide to follow the guidance of a contrary spirit and set up other altars. Jeroboam set a terrible precedence and became a standard and reference point for measuring evil in Israel. May that not be our portion in Jesus’ name. Today, we need righteous influencers.
Pray –
- Lord, we ask that you give us righteous influencers. Deliver us, O God, from every unrighteous influence in the name of Jesus. Deliver your Church from unrighteous influence in the name of Jesus.
