REASONS TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD
7. Thanksgiving destroys the mystery of ingratitude.
By destroying the mystery of ingratitude, thanksgiving makes you a better person. One of the things that man lost in Eden was the ability to see things right; man acquired a diseased perception of reality. You cannot be thankful for something you don’t even recognize; it takes recognition to place value and it is when you value something that you can say thank you. Adam was ungrateful, many people believe that his sin was abdication of responsibility but abdication is not really the seed but the fruit. The seed is ingratitude in the heart. If he were grateful, he would have placed value on what God did for him. A perfect man in a perfect garden with only one command, yet he failed. Instead of accepting responsibility he blamed Eve, what Adam was saying in essence is that if God had not given him the woman, he would not have failed. Adam was not a worshipper. There was no time he gave thanks to God. Ingratitude is a heart issue. Thanksgiving is a positive heart issue that destroys the mystery of ingratitude. Once you start thanking God, you will begin to see things differently, you will in the right direction and have the right perception that will destroy that diseased perception of reality which makes you analyze things and appropriate things as if you are the giver when you are just the receiver. It takes humility to say thank you.
- Heavenly Father, thank you so much. You have been good to me, you have been kind to me, you have been faithful, Lord, through the ages past. I want to say thank you from the depth of my heart.
- I ask you, O God, to have mercy on me. In any way that I have manifested ingratitude, please be merciful and roll away the mystery of ingratitude.
- Position me for your blessings – the blessings of thanksgiving, may they be manifest in my life going forward in the name of Jesus. You have been so good, so kind, so wonderful, so faithful. Thank you mighty God, I give you all the praise in Jesus name. Amen!
