If you teach people grace before making them worshippers, you will produce reckless sinners. They will think that grace is a license to live anyhow. According to 1 John 2:6, Your right believing should produce right living otherwise your believing is not right. Jesus Christ is the wisdom and power of God. What is wisdom? Wisdom is the accurate application of knowledge for your own personal benefit and for the benefit of others. There is no more reverential fear of God. If you teach people holiness first without teaching them to be worshippers, you will end up producing legalists – those who think that their self rule-keeping will make them righteous. Your holiness must proceed from worship; reverential fear of God. If you are a worshipper, you don’t need anyone to tell you to run away from sin, nobody will tell you to run away from what God hates.
The danger in all these is that it is possible to climb the highest ecclesiastical ladder without being a worshiper. Don’t ever trust anyone who lacks the fear of God, it could be dangerous.
- Father I thank you for the privilege of knowing you. Grant me the grace to place absolute value in my relationship with you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
