Purity is power. Daniel purposed in his heart that he was not going to be defiled by anything that came from the king’s table (Daniel 1:8). Today, a lot of people are being defiled from the things that come from the king’s table and they think they are still standing. This scripture is talking about progressive sanctification. Fasting should be an instrument of progressive sanctification. Christ is coming for only his bride; he is not coming for everybody.

If Jesus were to come on a Sunday, I believe that some cathedrals will still be in full session, oblivious of the rapture. Does the message you hear in the Church prepare you for the soon coming king? When was the last time anyone asked you the question – ‘are you ready?’

Pray –

  • Lord, open my eyes. Show me the baggage that I need to drop. Anything that binds me to this dusty land, Lord, in the name of Jesus, grant me the grace to break away. Grant me the grace to be heavenly minded.
  • Help me to pursue purity and keep on purifying myself. Lord, I desire to be pure. Make me holy, pure and acceptable to you in the name of Jesus.
  • Make it impossible for me to drink the wine of success that will cut me off from your presence in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • Help me not to chase shadows and miss you. Where you are is where I want to be. Make me a consummate worshipper in Jesus’ name.
