PRAYER FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD 4A (DEALING WITH MOUNTAINS)

One of the things that the fresh Oil will do for us this year is that oil will move mountains. Mountains signify challenges, issues, things that confront us – things that look intimidating, giants on the way to hinder as we progress. Someone says there are many things you can do to the mountain; you can decide to bore a hole or dig through the mountain, you can decide to turn back, you can decide to climb the mountain.

The Biblical prescription for removing mountains can be found in Mark 11:20-24. “And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Saith in verse 23 connotes the habit of continuous saying, you just have to continue to speak to the mountain.

The first mountain to deal with for anyone who wants to experience the blessings as enunciated in this scripture is the mountain of doubt. You need to crucify doubt. We are called to be believers. It is important for you to confront the mountain of doubt before dealing with other mountains. Every trace of doubt in the heart is enough to neutralize your confessions. The confession of faith is very powerful in uprooting mountains because confession goes before possession. Do you want to see it? Continue to say it and before long, you will have what you say. I have experienced this in my life.

This year, we must be prepared to experience this because we are going to operate both as kings and as priests. That is the reason why we started this programme with a lot of introspecting. It is now time to get into the kingship ministry of intercession. I love operating from this dimension because it is the sweetest. The other part of it is the foundation, the foundation of consecration. Inadequate consecration makes prayer effort of no effect. Until you learn to officiate as a priest, your kingship ministry of intercession will not be effective. This is very important. In the place of prayer, the heart must be right to correspond to and in line with the word of God and also in line with our own words for the mountain to give.

Isa. 10:27, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Oil destroys yokes. Yokes are hindrances; they are chains, mountains as well as obstacles on the way. This year, no yoke will be able to stand before us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
