ANOINTED WITH FRESH OIL 1A
I enjoin you to take your walk with God more seriously; avoid a little to the left and a little to the right attitude. I have discovered that more and more, people are paying less and less attention to things that really matter. Remember what I call the law of attention which states that anything at all in this life, whatever it is, has an intrinsic value of attention. If you pay that value, that thing becomes yours for keeps. If you refuse to pay that value, that thing may take a walk, and it may be for life.
You need to understand that spiritual things are very slippery. The carnal person pays no attention to spiritual things; meanwhile, it is the spiritual that controls the physical. The devil specializes in keeping people busy pursuing minor things and removing their attention from the real things that they should pursue. Unfortunately, time flies. Let it be part of your resolution this year that you will be a God chaser. Nothing can be more satisfying, nothing can be more gratifying, nothing can be more fulfilling. The greatest problem of man is misplacement of value.
Psa. 92:10, “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil”. I counsel you to memorize the entire Psalm. Oil connotes the power dimension of the Holy Spirit, it connotes the anointing. Anointing is the burden removing and yoke destroying power of God. Anointing is the outflow of the Holy Spirit through human vessel. No king ever reigned in Israel without the oil. No prophet officiated in Israel without the oil. No priest officiated without the oil.
We are kings and we are priests. We need the oil; we don’t need stale oil, we need fresh oil. Why? We need fresh oil for fresh testimonies, fresh oil for fresh exploits, fresh oil for new things, fresh oil for accelerated progress. Oil will announce you. You cannot carry the oil and be an ordinary person. It is the oil of greatness. It is the oil of goodness. It is the oil of gladness. It is the oil of influence. It is the oil of prosperity, divine elevation, comprehensive victories and so on. Everything you need is wrapped up in this oil.
Psa. 89:17, 20 & 22, “For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted. I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him. The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him”. If you have the oil, you have become a ‘dangerous’ person. Do you know that whenever you set yourself against someone who has the anointing, you are actually setting yourself against God? God himself will take over the battle. When God says I will plague your enemies and beat down your foes before your face, what else do you need?
One of the things we must learn to do this year is to allow God fight our battles. Many times, we take on more than we can bear. Can you fight better than God? Do you have the resources? Do you really know your enemies? How old are you in this journey? May we learn to invite God into our battles, watch and praise him as he takes over. All we need do is to magnify him. It takes discernment – the guidance of the Holy Spirit to know your enemies.
The Bible says man’s greatest enemies are members of his household (Matt 10:36). Many believe that household refers to members of their families; that is part of it. However, the greatest household is you! A lot of people do not understand this. What destroyed Lucifer? His heart! Your greatest foe is your heart that is not yielded to Jesus Christ. What are you saying in your heart? Who is in charge of the voice you hear in the garden of your heart? If you don’t get it right in the garden of the heart, then forget it.
