SANCTIFY YOURSELF 3B

Don’t shy away from the truth of the word of God. Anything that is not consistent with the truth of the word of God is capable of misleading a child of God who embraces it. The word is light. If you miss light, you miss life. It is therefore, a serious matter to align with darkness. Darkness is a personality. Darkness is a realm. Darkness is a phenomenon. Darkness is a reality. Darkness is a place. Darkness is a thing. The headquarters of darkness is hell.

In the same vein, light is a realm. Light is a personality. Light is a thing. Light is a phenomenon. The headquarters of light is heaven. Whatever leads you determines where you will end. That is why we need to be very careful.

Anytime you align with darkness, you are only shooting yourself. If your brother is heading towards darkness, it is your responsibility to rebuke him and call him to order. When God says that you should flee from every appearance of evil, it is for your own good. Evil leads to disaster, it ends in destruction. Your real leader is the one who holds your hand and leads you in the right direction. Leadership is direction. Husband is not a title. It is a ministry. Don’t ever allow anybody who is headed in the wrong direction to be your head. May you not go to Church with your mind already made up in the name of Jesus. God can decide to rebuke you, it is part of the love he has for you. Today, so many are failing in their parenting because of their wrong definition of love.

Rev. 3:4, “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.” Jesus here testifies personally about the Church in Sardis. He said, some of you, it is not everyone you find in a big cathedral that is heading in the right direction. It is still a selective thing; it is an individual thing. We all have our responsibility to keep our garments undefiled. We have the responsibility to align with the word of God, to flee every appearance of evil, and to depart from the things that bind, fetter and things that make God unhappy. It is a personal thing. We must learn to take personal responsibility for our actions. If you were a part of the Sardis Church, would you be one of those who kept their garments undefiled? It is only those who keep their garments pure that will walk with Jesus Christ in white. These are the ones who are declared worthy.

Do you know that you cannot help anyone beyond the level of their persuasion? Do you know that you can never rise beyond your persuasion? Do you know that you cannot help anyone who has made up his mind not to be helped? Do you know that you cannot lead anyone beyond the level the person is willing to be led? Do you know that you cannot deliver anyone beyond the level the person is ready to be delivered? It takes a surrendered will to be led. Jesus cannot lead those who are not surrendered. It is only those who are surrendered that he will lead and only those he leads will end up in their mansions in heaven because he is the light. That is why it is important for you to ask yourself the question – in which direction am I heading? Who is leading me? What is leading me?

• Eternal, most Holy God, I reverence your holy name. I acknowledge that your word is truth, and I ask that you grant me the grace to always walk hand in hand with you so that your purpose will be fulfilled in every facet of my life. Guide me through the skillfulness of your hands to my allotted inheritance in you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
