WINNING IN THE FIELD 2B
Some people believe that the Church should have nothing to do with politics. You should ask yourself the question – what is politics? The Church should be interested in anything that God is interested in. The Church should be interested in anything that affects people. The Church should not only be interested in politics but should dictate the direction. This belief is a lie from the pit of hell which has kept the devil in control of power in many nations. This was how the Church surrendered and allowed the kingdom of darkness to take over.
Be very careful how you yield your will and what you allow even in your environment. The enemy is very aggressive and you don’t deal with the devil with kid’s gloves. Politics is defined as the art of who gets what, when and how, who determines what you get – whether you will be employed or not? With a godly man in power, most of your prayers would have been answered. This is why the Church must be interested in politics.
In fact, the Church should be producing those who govern. God is interested in the corridors of power? Yes. The issue is what sort of people is the Church sending to the seat of power. What I do not understand is a pastor who leaves his pulpit to pursue a political office. The call of God is superior to any political call. It is the responsibility of the Church to produce Daniels who will take over the reins of government. They will be the Joshua in the field with the soldiers calling the shots.
Exo. 17:8, “Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.” Moses (the servant of God) was the one dictating the strategy for the battle while on top of the mountain with the rod of God in his hand. Every man of God is supposed to be on top of the mountain. We need to start raising spiritual Christians like Daniel to send to the field because if a carnal Christian is sent, he will compromise, he will eat ‘swine’s’ food.
Dan. 1:8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” The moment a believer gets defiled, he no longer has a message. The field is full of anacondas, tigers, lions, hawks, leopards, bulls, hyenas and so on. During some of our deliverance sessions, I do see human beings manifesting all manner of animals and there is no way you can detect these traits just by looking at the faces of these people. The fact that some of them went to Harvard and other great institutions of learning makes no difference, it does not change these traits in them.
Some of the people you will confront in the fields are actually not human beings; some of them are human beasts who deliberately sold their hearts to the devil in order to get to influential positions. The field is dirty and murky; it is not a place for gentle people. That is why you need pure fire in order to dominate in the field. God kept you there so that you can be an enforcer of righteousness. You need to hold the rod. Imagine what would have happened if Moses decided to leave the hill to join Joshua in the field.
You need a spiritual covering in order to operate successfully in the field. You need a prophetic connection. That was what Moses represented. Take note of the direction of the battle – whenever the hands of Moses came down, the battle tide changed against the children of Israel. The hands of those who are supposed to be on top of the hill lifting the rod in this country have been down for too long. If the Church fails to get it right, then there is no remedy; evil will take over.
- Father, I worship and adore you. I thank you for calling me out of darkness to the marvelous light of your son Jesus Christ. I ask you to grant me the grace to always be at the right place, at the right time, doing what you have called me to do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Pastors are supposed to be elders at the gate – watchmen! Every romance with the snake produces death. If you don’t know how to say no to every appearance of evil, don’t go to the field. I was only a head of department back then in 1998 as an Electrical Electronic Engineer in a government establishment when I started noticing a lot of things that were wrong and cried out to God to take me out of that system. I knew that there is no how I could continue working there without being compromised.
Jesus asked a very important question, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) I was very young then and I would have retired as a permanent secretary but I prayed and asked God to take me out of that place. You must become a spiritual Christian to be able to say no to every appearance of evil.
What is it that the devil can use to entice you and get you compromised? Is it power, position or money? May you not eat that thing which is capable of destroying you in the mighty name of Jesus.
