About three months back, a Sister brought her daughter to my office for counseling. She has had series of disappointments – loss of jobs and as a result of the trauma she went into deep depression. She was almost gone; everything around her was saying, no hope! When I saw her, I had to encourage myself before I could even pray for her.
I was just led to start telling her about what the Bible says about hope – that every child of God has hope. Don’t listen to the lie of the devil. We have what is called the blessed hope. We have a lively hope in Christ according to
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”.1 Peter 1:3 KJV
God has hidden this hope for us.
As I was just encouraging her, the fire of the presence of God fell and she was enveloped. She held her stomach, gave a very wild scream and was slain. Her mother was taken aback. I was angry in spirit when I saw this. I rebuked the spirit of depression. She started vomiting. That day, I came to the conclusion that you cannot treat depression with drugs.
Psychiatrists think that you can use medication to handle depression. If you give medication to someone with a spiritual problem, the demon in that person will eat up the medicine and grow fat. There is no chemical that can handle it. When I gave that command, the demon cried, carried her and she started rolling on the floor. When the demon left, I was led to give another command – ‘spirit of suicide, go’. She held her stomach tightly and started another level of vomiting. It is difficult to believe. By the time she left my office for the deliverance room, she was changed. The transformation was profound.
The reason why I love this ministry is that there is always something new to learn in the school of the Holy Ghost. There is no graduation. No two cases are ever the same. The good part of this is that when we entered the deliverance room, the ministration continued. The demons continued to go, tearing her apart in the process. By the time the Sister came back after about a week, I could hardly recognize her, she was completely transformed.
Another good thing about this ministry is that the testimonies from the altar are progressive because they are deep. They are not superficial or made up. The fire is pure, no strange fire. To the glory of God, the very first working day of this year, she got a call to come and pick up a job. The Bible says,
“But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions”.Obadiah1:17 KJV
The devil has a way of magnifying his deeds in the lives of people and if you are not careful, you may accept his lies as the truth. The greatest damage he is doing in the world today is telling people lies that there is no hope for them. Unfortunately, some children of God believe it; some actually commit suicide!
The demon of depression does not operate in isolation, it comes with a set of other wicked demons and as a result, the victim starts to have suicidal thoughts. If not checked, the devil will complete his three fold ministry of stealing, killing, and destruction. Recently, I have handled a number of other related cases and come to realize that these demons go not by casting out alone, but also by restructuring of the mind of the victim. No two cases are the same. Some depression cases you don’t handle by commanding the demons to loose their hold. In some cases, there is need to get into the mind realm because what controls the mind controls the man.
Saturate your mind with the word of God daily.
