WORSHIPPING GOD WITH UNREPENTANT HEART II

The Bible enjoins man to love his wife even as Christ loves the Church and gave his life (Eph. 5:25). This is not easy either. It is grace. The carnal man cannot do this, he can lust after women but to truly love, it takes grace. That is why when God says don’t be unequally yoked, it is for your good. There is no profit in any handshake between light and darkness.

One of the reasons why the Jews are one of the most successful is that they guard jealousy the torah, the tradition their parents handed over to them with the blessings that go with it. They treasure it and hand it over to their generation yet unborn. What activates generational blessings? Obedience! It must start with obedience to your parents first and foremost so that your days may be long. Obedience is the seed for longevity. The children who follow the righteous instructions of their parents are champions, trail blazers. Eccl. 1:9 says,

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun”.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 KJV

Take note that there is absolutely nothing new under the sun.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. Now, therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD”.

1 Samuel 15:23-25, KJV

The instruction of God was not given directly to Saul, it was received by Samuel who passed it on to Saul. Take note of this. Saul did not disobey the instruction totally; it was a case of partial obedience. God instructed him to utterly destroy the Amalekites and to wipe them off totally but Saul decided to spare some.

Pray –
  • Heavenly Father, grant me the grace never to elevate the will of man above your will in my life in the mighty name of Jesus.
