QUALITIES OF GOD CHASERS (CONTINUED)

10. God chasers don’t worship nonsense.
They worship the living God. True worship is ‘worth-ship’, placement of value. They cannot be bribed neither can they bribe. The three Hebrew boys displayed this.

“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

Daniel 3:16-18, KJV

At one side a fiery furnace was heated up waiting for them yet they were not intimidated. They were ready to face the fire rather than bow. They knew that God is able to deliver them, he is sovereign over all and even if he decides not to deliver them they will still not bow to any idol. Today, a lot of people worship the ‘golden image’ in many places even in cathedrals. You cannot serve god and mammon. If you chase gold you will miss God, but if you chase God, you will have gold like dust. Whatever you value above God has become your god because that is what you worship.

Money is a store of value and there are a lot of teachings around money today. It is a decision you need to make early in life. It takes the grace of God to make the decision not to bow to idols or succumb to any idol. It is all about placement of value. When God delivered the three Hebrew boys out of that fiery furnace, Nebuchadnezzar started magnifying God and he promoted them. Any time you refuse to bow to idols, heaven replies with a promotion for you. This is one of the secrets of divine elevation. Refuse to bow to nonsense and you will see God promote you. When the hand of God is lifting you, nobody can stop you.

Pray –

• Father, I do not want to bow to nonsense, please empower me. Have mercy on me in any way that I have ever worshipped what should worship you. Father, my worship is reserved for you and for you alone.
• In any way Lord, that I have succumbed to error, I am sorry. In any way, Lord, that I have pursued the golden image of Nechadnezzar, I am sorry. In any way Lord, that I have lowered your standards, I am sorry.
• Please, help me, O God, to be tuned to your frequency all the days of my life and to make the right decision to worship you. You alone will I worship. You alone will I serve. You alone will I adore. Help me to walk with you in Jesus’ name.
• Empower me by your spirit to be a God chaser all my life. May your name be magnified in every facet of my life. Let my actions declare your glory in Jesus’ mighty name I pray.
