QUALITIES OF GOD CHASERS (CONTINUED)

11. God chasers are heavenly minded.
You can be heavenly minded and still be earthly useful. The two are not mutually exclusive.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”. 

Colossians 3:1-3, KJV

You must set your affections on things that are above. What you really love is what your heart pants after. Jesus made it clear that where a man’s treasure is, there his heart will be also. If your heart is not panting after God, then it must be panting after wrong things and it indicates where you are going. If your heart is not set on things that are above, it will be set on carnal things. The Bible says to be carnally minded is death (Romans 8:6). It is so easy to be carnally minded today. Churches where money is made the bottom line cannot produce spiritual Christians. Giving has been bastardized. Whenever you give without the right motive, it amounts to wood, hay and stubble, of no eternal value. Any giving not born out of deep love for God and his kingdom has no eternal value. If you are giving in order to get, you are in deep error. The world has become so religious and the Church has become so worldly that there is no difference. A lot of people are joking with eternity. Do you have siblings or aged parents whom you claim to love but you cannot vouch for their spiritual state? What are you doing with eternity? Do you know that the rapture can take place at any time? Eternity is too serious to be left to chance. Nobody stumbles into heaven by chance. Every passing moment takes us closer and closer to eternity. Which direction are you facing? You face the direction of the god you chase. The headquarters of mammon is not heaven. You don’t need money in heaven so why make it your pursuit? Why make money the center of gravity of your life? What is your priority? The Bible says, seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness (Matt. 6:33). What are you seeking? What would you be remembered for? Everyone will be remembered for two things: the problems they solved and the problems they left behind. What God purpose are you fulfilling in this generation? What problems are you solving? What problems have you created? God chasers are problem solvers. They are healing agents in a sick world.

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Acts 10:38, KJV

Being a Christian is not a title; the same spirit in Christ is in you, Jesus unlimited, the spirit of grace, the spirit of truth, the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of power.

PRAYER

• Father, make me heavenly minded. Help me to be heavenly minded and earthly useful. Help me to be a healing agent in this sick world.
• Make heaven more real to me than any earthly thing can ever be. Jesus you have gone to prepare a place for me, please prepare me for that place so that where you are, there also I will be.
