2023/2024 OPERATION 18-18 – (KEEP YOURSELF FROM IDOLS 1B)

“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”

1 John 5:21, KJV

It is our responsibility to keep away from idolatry. The origin of idolatry can be traced to the five ‘I wills’ of Lucifer, before Eden. The devil understands the power of worship, he knows that if you become a true worshipper, you will become unstoppable. Nobody will teach you faith, giving, submission to the will of God or the fear of God if you are a worshipper.

If you are a worshipper, nobody will teach you to align with the will of God. Jesus was a consummate worshipper. May God teach you to align your will with the will of the Father. Anyone who is not led by the Holy Spirit is capable of doing anything at all. If you throw away the will of God, anything goes. That is the will of satan, “just do it!”

If you throw away the will of God, whatever you do in the house of God is wood, hay, or stubble. When the devil tells people his commandment – “do thou what thou wilst shall be the whole of the law.” Don’t obey the ten commandments, just do what you wish, he already knows that fallen man’s mind has been captured and aligned with his own will contrary to the purposive will of God. Theologians call it the “unified intelligence”. That is the greatest problem of man (man’s will in union with the will of the snake, incapable of choosing right and making right decisions). Man became incapable of taking good decisions.

A lot of people confuse good with right. The greatest enemy of right is not wrong, it is good. There are quite a number of things that are good but not right. If you can keep yourself from idols, God will help you to be a good worshipper and you will be a God chaser. Every God chaser will end up in the house of the Father. If the Lord is your shepherd, not only will you not want, surely you will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Nobody ever stumbles into heaven by chance. It is what you chase down here that will determine where you will end. Everyone will end up in the home of the God they worship. As someone who has been in the ministry of deliverance for close to thirty years, I can confirm this categorically. There is absolutely nothing that has not been offered to me to renounce the call. That is why when I see people throw away the call to pursue lower things, I cringe.

Jesus made a profound statement in Mark 8:36,

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

If you have scented heaven, everything down here will be like a toy. Sons go for inheritance, children go for toys. Whoever continues to acquire things even after the age of seventy is in dire need of deliverance. Exactly what John advised people to keep away from is what people are acquiring even at the age of eighty. Where do they intend to use those things?

Where will you spend eternity? How much are you going to take away from here? Jesus told a rich man to sell everything he had and follow him because Jesus knew that it would be a distraction. Unfortunately, the man refused the call because he was earthbound. The call of God is superior to anything anyone can offer you. A lot of messages today are generating idolaters and people don’t even know when they become one. Can your money cover the multitude of sins? Can any amount of money redeem you? God is not interested in your money, he is interested in your heart.

• Heavenly Father, I worship and adore you. I ask you to make me a God chaser for life in Jesus’ name.
