There is also a very close relationship between worship and faith. There are so many definitions of faith;

1. Faith is trusting God no matter the circumstance, no matter the situation.
2. Faith is acting upon the word of God.
3. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

They are all correct and scriptural. But I love this particular definition of faith – faith is the correct placement of value in our relationship with our heavenly Father. That is what brings out the worship. You don’t teach a true worshipper faith; he is faithful. You don’t teach a true worshipper to keep appointment with God, no.  David said “I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psa. 122:4). “As the hart pants after the water brooks, so my soul panteth after thee, O God” (Psa. 42:1). What is your heart panting after?

At the foundation of worship is LOVE. What do you really love? True worship is nothing but being so

 fanatically in love with God that the idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist. Where can we find such people today? How can we get there? Those are the type of people I desire to pastor for the rest of my life.

There is also a very close relationship between worship and idolatry. Idolatry is nothing but perversion of worship. The moment you pervert worship, you will produce idolatry and it is very easy. That is what the devil specializes in doing – perverting worship, adding where God never added. It was the word that was perverted in the garden that produced the fall of man. You need not teach a true worshipper obedience, that is his nature. Before you disobey, you would have perverted the commandment in your heart, you must have reduced the one who gave the commandment to your own level. It is so easy to do that. It is so easy to exercise the will that God gave to man, our decision making tool in the wrong direction.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 

John 3:16, KJV

You don’t teach a true worshipper giving. It is so easy for a worshipper to give and when he does, it is acceptable giving because he gives out of love. Giving has been perverted just as worship has been perverted. The devil likes to pervert because he is a pervert right from the beginning; he knows the value of worship. He knows that the moment you become a true worshipper, you will become a terror to his kingdom. He was the anointed cherub, the worship leader in heaven before the fall. His heart deceived him.
