Pray –

• Ask God to speak to you through these teachings.
• Father, please speak to us and help us to make adjustments where necessary. Help us to live while we live. Help us to make hay while the sun shines. Help us to make use of the opportunities you have granted us here to live for you.
• Deliver us from the deception, the delusions, the distractions, the encumbrances that are out there. Help us to live above only. Help us to be doers of your word and not just hearers only.
• Grant us grace to walk hand in hand with you so that your purpose may be established in our lives.
• Work out your plans for our destinies and establish us. Make our evangelism sweet. When people look at us, may they see Jesus Christ. Thank you ancient of days, in Jesus mighty name we pray.

We had earlier established that the foundation of giving is nothing but the cross. The cross is the greatest symbol of love. When we talk about the cross, we are not just referring to the wooden physical cross, no, that is just a symbol. We are referring to everything that God packaged to redeem fallen man, everything that has to do with the redemption of man; the comprehensive salvation package as ordained by God.

We need to appreciate that the divine prescription for every man’s malady is the cross. You cannot be wiser than God. When man throws away that prescription thinking that he can fix it on his own, he gets into error.

The cross is not only the symbol of sacrifice; it is the symbol of sacrificial giving. The greatest gift ever offered and will ever be offered was offered on the cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You can imagine God becoming man to die on the cross to pay for the sins that he never committed. We also mentioned that there is a very close relationship between worship and giving. That relationship exists because you give in measured values; your giving is a measure of the value you place. Money is a standard measure of value.

There is a close relationship between giving and value. Your worship is actually a placement of value. Worship is nothing but worth-ship. How much is your relationship with God worth? How much do you value your relationship with God? What does it mean to you? How much do you treasure your God factor? That is what defines your worship.
