THE FOUNDATION OF GIVING 2F

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

1 Corinthians 3:11-15, KJV

This is very clear. There is no other foundation that can be laid other than the one that God has laid. God’s prescription is the salvation package – Jesus Christ. We all know the power of foundation. Psa. 11:3, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” If the foundation is not right, there is nothing anyone can do.

The materials you are building with are also very important. Those mentioned in this passage are gold, silver and precious stone. Gold represents the righteousness of God; the very nature of God. God is righteous, absolutely righteous. Precious stone represents the precious holiness of God. If your faith is not leading you to holiness, check it. Without holiness, no one will see God. Nothing defiled will make it to heaven. No lion shall be there nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there. Only the redeemed of the Lord shall walk there (Isa. 35:9).

The things that we should renounce and break away from are now being celebrated by many because of intellectualization of the word of God. We have intellectuals on the pulpit and all they preach are motivational messages. People get carried away with their teachings because they don’t really have time to study the word of God. That is the kind of people that are being produced today. Pastors keep calling pastors who were called by other pastors into the ministry, by so doing, error keeps multiplying and people keep drifting away. The more you drift from the cross the weaker you become and the more you drift into error.

The divine prescription for every man’s malady is the cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. No other foundation. The cross is the symbol of dominion over sin, self, satan and all his works, all his wiles, all his schemes, all his machinations, manipulations, wiles. The cross is the symbol of dominion over sickness, disease, death, hell. If the Church must manifest dominion, she must return to the cross. Take away the cross, you cannot produce a disciple!

In Luke 9:23, Jesus said if you want to be his disciple, the first thing you need to do is to dethrone self. That is why you must not follow the erroneous theology of eagle and lion. Both creatures are unclean, there is nowhere in the Bible where they are pronounced clean.

If you want to make heaven, there are quite a number of things you need to break away from:

• You have to break away from superfluity of naughtiness.
• You must crucify Mr flesh otherwise it will expose you. It is dangerous to do ministry without the cross. The fall will be colossal. You don’t overcome by the blood of lion but by the blood of the Lamb.
