EMPOWERED TO LIVE ABUNDANTLY I

I don’t know about you but I have resolved to get closer to God more than ever. I have resolved that my walk with God will get sweeter every passing moment. I have set some very beautiful targets and they shall be accomplished in Jesus name. If your desire is in line with the desire of your heavenly Father for you, that prayer is already answered.

Do you really know that your heavenly Father wants you to be a better person than you are right now? He actually wants the best for you. He is not limited in any way; he is the inexhaustible source of every good gift. All good and perfect gifts come from him (James 1:17).

God is love. His loving nature is that which wills to bestow upon us, his children, the very best. He has proved it on the cross when he sent his Son, the greatest sacrifice ever. Each time I meditate on this, I marvel. He did it just for me! This draws me closer to him. I pray that the divine benevolence that we experience from our Father in heaven will draw us closer to him and should not be an excuse for us to get busy and forget God. God is interested in your fellowship with him. At the heart of fellowship is partnership.

Today, what do you see? A little blessing and the person gets carried away and starts making excuses. If your job will take you away from the purpose of God, then, that job is not from God. It is not every open door that is God’s door. The blessings of God should draw you closer to him and not alienate you. The basis of our relationship with our heavenly Father should be LOVE, anything short of that will lead to idolatry.

The more I research into this, the more I see the slippery path that devil has laid for Church goers today. It is so easy to pursue the hand of God and miss his heart. Once that happens, you become an idolater. Idolatry is one of the gates of hell. Today, there are several forms of idolatry that are being practiced even in the Church.

There are actually seven dimensions of idolatry that are practiced in the Church today. God will deliver us from them all. The departing point is the foundation which is LOVE. If you don’t get it right at that point, everything will be off point.

Pray –

• My heart, I completely hand you over to Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, every part of you, my very self. My life I hand over to you Jesus, the eternal Son of the most high God. Do not allow me to stray. I have never walked this path before, you have done it, and I depend on your finished work on the cross to make it.
• Help me not to chase vanities and miss the real thing. Help me to walk with you. Help me to get my affections right; help me to set my affections on things that are above.
• Deliver me from earthbound Christianity. Help me to think heaven. Help me to be a God chaser. Make heaven more real to me than any earthly thing can ever be.
• Help me to fall in love with you to the extent that the very idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist.
• I depend on you. I love you, Lord. I worship you. You know my strengths and you know my weaknesses. I surrender to you and I ask that you guide me by the skillfulness of your hand till I become all you want me to be so that I can accomplish all you want me to accomplish and make heaven at last in Jesus name.
