1. Rejoice ever more CONT’D

Light is most potent in the thick of darkness. I have discovered that the moment you make up your mind to comply with divine prescriptions, heaven backs you up to fulfil it. Decide to align with God, heaven will back you up to succeed. I love the definition of grace as divine empowerment to do what ordinarily one would have been incapable of doing. Grace to say no when every other person is saying yes. Grace to put on the garment of dancing in the presence of God when things don’t make sense. You don’t need to wait to receive answers before thanking God. It is a quality decision that will bring a turnaround in every aspect of your life if you put it to use.

The Bible says, in the presence of God, there is fullness of joy, at his right hand pleasures for every more (Psa. 16:11). I love the Psalmist, he was a person addicted to the presence of God to the extent that at a point in time when things didn’t make sense to him, he started talking to his instruments of praise to wake up, it is time to praise the Lord (Psalm 108:2). May we get to that level in Jesus name. Where does our help come? I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help, my help shall come from the almighty God who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2). Do you know that the moment you make up your mind to rejoice, you connect to God? True faith is acting upon the word of God. God’s word says, rejoice evermore. When was the last time you rejoiced? Some of the songs we sing sometimes program us away from the word. Anything that programs you away from the word will program you into the world. This is how the Church is gradually getting weaker and weaker because the word is perverted or not actually acted upon or appropriated. True faith is acting upon the word of God – the word of God says, rejoice evermore! The moment you put it to use, you will see yourself lifted. It takes a decision. Rejoicing shifts your focus away from the issue to God. Remember that spiritual power is focus; if you focus on the issue which is exactly what the devil wants, it will become a giant and it will bring fear. I was surprised when I was told the cost of oxygen. We breathe in oxygen free of charge. We must learn to focus more on what God is doing than what the enemy is doing. May we learn to celebrate the hand of God in everything. If we know who we are and what we have in Christ, it will be easy for us to rejoice. If heaven is our focus, it will be easy for us to rejoice. The devil knows this and that is why there are so many earthbound messages. Once you become earthbound, you will start comparing yourself with others. Before you sing any song ensure that it is in consonance with the word of God. Unbelievers celebrate nonsense, they rejoice in nonsense. What they call rejoicing is celebration of abomination. The spirit that gives birth to a song is always released whenever the song is played. If it is not the Holy Spirit, it must be a demonic spirit. What is it that makes Christians compromise and eat the garlic and cucumber of Egypt? Celebration of superficiality of naughtiness, celebration of hell while on earth! That is not rejoicing! It is the celebration of abomination.
