5. The crooked heart.

“Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.”

Psalm 56:5-6, KJV

The Living Bible brings it out better – “They are always twisting what I say. All their thoughts are how to harm me. They meet together to perfect their plans; they hide beside the trail, listening for my steps, waiting to kill me”. This is the commonest type of heart today in the Church. I have discovered that there are more ‘Cain’ in the Church today. I have vowed that no Cain will cross my path. No Cain will kill you; any Cain that rises against you will be crushed. Jesus died at the age of 33. No power will mess up with my testimony until I have fulfilled what God has ordained for my life. There is so much wickedness in the clime and people tend to pretend because they go to Church. You may think that they have changed but they have not. A crooked heart will always reduce the word to their size, they reduce the pastor to their size and reduce everything to their size. They put the pastor in their small dock and begin to do analysis of his call. Did you call him? Can you even call him? Can you pay him? How much can you pay a person who casts out demons from you? To one who has a crooked heart, everything evil is good and anything good is evil. They are capable of doing anything. What they perceive as opportunity is nothing but leprosy. Many African nations are the way they are today because people with crooked heart have taken over these nations.

A person with a crooked heart will always support and rationalize nonsense. They make good politicians in the Church and are quick to be a little to the left and a little to the right. If the word of God is your guide, you can never be comfortable in an atmosphere of filth; even if that atmosphere is full of gold. Even if you rationalize the filth and decide to go for the gold and donate to charity the gold does not justify the filth. This is part of the devaluation that is in the system. Why are you rationalizing? Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me (John 10:27). The spirit of devaluation is a wicked spirit that wants to destroy you. Do you know that if you decide to entertain demons, they will use you and destroy you? Anything the devil uses, he destroys. That is why wise people fence him off. If you don’t hate filth, agents of darkness will feed you with it in your dreams. If you cannot say no to every appearance of evil, you are in trouble. One of the best things that happened to me is that I was driven into ministry through powerful deliverance and intercession. A crooked heart is a dangerous heart. Your reaction to God’s word is what defines your destiny. How you react to God’s word determines where you will end up. The first two people who worshipped God in the Bible are Cain and Abel. Abel had a perfect heart towards God while Cain had an imperfect heart. God warned Cain and tried to correct him when he was angry – Cain why are you angry? If you do well, will I not accept you? (Gen. 4:6).  

Sin is knocking at the door, but you have the opportunity to abort it. You are just a product of your decisions. Instead of pausing and repenting, Cain decided to kill his brother. When people allow a crooked spirit to possess them, it becomes difficult to stop them from committing evil. Cain ended up a spiritual vagabond. There are so many spiritual vagabonds in the Church today. The instructions you follow determine the future you create.
