WHO SHALL ABIDE? IX

After you have gotten it right with God, the next set of qualifications will be your horizontal relationship with your neighbours. God is interested not only in our getting it right with him vertically, that is our relationship with him, but you must also get it right in your relationship with your neighbours. When you put the vertical and horizontal together, what you have is the cross.

The only symbol that encapsulates every Christian virtue is the cross. Take me to the cross and I will find my way home. Every true child of God must visit the cross at least once daily if you want to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

4. He that backbiteth not … but he honoureth them that fear the LORD”. Integrity. Money does not have a character of its own, it assumes the character of its owner. If I study your attitude to money, I can write volumes about you, just by watching you. I can as well project whether or not you are facing the right direction.

What led to Gehazi’s downfall? Money! Greed! Lust! What finished Judas? Money! Greed! Lust! What finished Cain? He gave God rejects because he loved other things above God. What finished Ananias and Sapphira? They lied to the Holy Spirit.

Pray –

• Lord, grant that money will not be my undoing. Make it impossible for money to derail your purpose in my life in the name of Jesus.
• Grant me the grace to elevate my love for you above the love of money in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Grant me the grace in the powerful name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth to get my horizontal relationship with others right in the name of Jesus.
• Help me to love what you love and to hate what you hate. Help me to honour those that fear you in the name of Jesus.
