OPERATION 18:18,  SUNDAY SERVICE

CELEBRATING THE GRACES OF GOD 2C

One beautiful thing about prayer is that prayer puts God in focus so it draws you closer to God and any time you come into his presence, you will remember that he is thrice holy. That is wisdom, so you need to clean up. There is no moving to higher ground with God without dropping things and without cleaning up. That is the divine prescription.

God is too holy to behold iniquity. We need to understand this because many times in the place of prayer, so many people just rush and start making demands especially Pentecostals and those who don’t really understand the true meaning of grace. True grace teaches you to know God better, to respect him, to have reverential fear of God. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Grace never reduces God to the size of anybody. Grace enables you to stretch to the height where God can pull you up. That was exactly what Zacchaeus did.

Zacchaeus was a short man in stature but a giant in faith and he has become a reference point for those who wish to stretch to know God, those who stretch to do the will of God. Anyone without the fear of God is done for just like Saul, the king. He was very good looking but he devalued God. Before you can disobey an instruction, you must have devalued the instructor. He cared more about his public image than obeying God and pleasing him.

We need to caution ourselves and recognize the fact that God is not our mate. He can do without us but we cannot do without him. When we are coming into his presence, we need to humble ourselves because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The cross is the greatest display of humility. Jesus humbled himself to the point of dying on the cross. Think about the steps he took to come down; he took the form of man, carried our sins to do the will of God. The cross is the greatest demonstration of submission and every Christian virtue; he taught us how to submit to do the will of God.

The cross is also the greatest demonstration of worship and the greatest demonstration of obedience. That is why it is very dangerous to drift from the cross because the divine prescription for every man’s malady is the cross. It is the wisdom of God using the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. That is the God that we serve.

Appreciate and celebrate him. Thank him for giving you the right revelation. Thank him for helping you to hear this message – the bride’s message is not a cheap message. It is the only message that guarantees you comprehensive success here and hereafter. If you follow other cheap messages, you may accumulate things but they are earthbound. It is only the cross that can take you beyond the atmospheric heaven.

Pray –
  • Thank God for his wisdom, for his boundless love. Celebrate Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith who is our propitiation, our atonement.
  • Celebrate the Lord on high, stretch to climb to celebrate him. Don’t bring the Lord down to your size. Celebrate Jesus! Magnify his name.
