DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XII) DEALING WTH FALSE PROPHETS

iii That Jesus has come in flesh, is the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross and rose on the third day. Any such religion manifests the spirit of the antichrist. 1 John 4: 2-3, “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is the spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world”. This is the dividing factor between Christianity and other religions especially Islam – they claim that God cannot beget and cannot be begotten, in other words, they don’t believe in the Sonship of Jesus Christ.

Iv That the Bible is the word of God, which must not be subjected to any additions, subtraction or modification. The Bible is the word of God; every word from Genesis to Revelation is given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, according to 2 Tim. 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works”. If you know the attempt that is being made today to dilute and downplay the authenticity of the word of God, you will marvel.

Why do people patronize false prophets?

1. Ignorance – ignorance of who they are, ignorance of what they have in Christ, and ignorance of what Christ has done for them. Ignorance is classified as all erroneous beliefs and all beliefs not amounting to knowledge, lack of knowledge regarding the unsatisfactoriness of things, lack of knowledge regarding the path leading to the cessation of unsatisfactoriness of things, lack of knowledge regarding the time of the cessation of the unsatisfactoriness of things. When you consult a medical doctor, a file will be opened for you for record purpose, in the same way, when you consult a false prophet, a file will also be opened for you. I watched the performance of one of these funny ‘prophets’ sometime ago, he called someone out of the congregation and started looking at him, eventually he said, ‘I am trying to get your file’ and of course, he was able to get the man’s file just by looking at him. Immediately after, he started telling the man everything concerning him. Out of all the mesmerizing, whose life will be touched? These prophets never raise a javelin against sin neither do they tell people to repent of their sins yet their congregation keep multiplying by the day. There is something in man that makes him love deception more than the truth. It all started in Eden. God gave an instruction to the first Adam that they must not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Unfortunately, they allowed a snake into the garden, the snake told them a lie, which they took while rejecting the word of God, which is the truth. From that moment, there was a union, there was a marriage of the will of man to the will of the serpent. Man acquired what is called a ‘diseased perception of reality’. Man submitted to the serpent and lost dominion. Thereafter, man became incapable to choosing right. Why? This is because of the nature of the serpent in man, even when man has to choose between two options, he is most likely to make a wrong choice. Glory to God, the second Adam routed the snake firstly in the wilderness (right in the devil’s domain), beat him hands down with the word of God, “it is written” and then again in the garden of Gethsemane. This is the secret of dominion. If you take cognizance of this, then you will not take any decision without consulting God. When you give your life to Christ, you are breaking away from the union with the enemy and yielding your will to the purposive will of God, there will be a separation and you will have a new life. You will lose that nature – the diseased perception of reality. An unbeliever cannot see God, it is beyond him, no matter the level of his attainment, because his will is still united to the will of the serpent. This is why a child of God must not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever.
