DOMINION OVER DARKNESS (PART XIII) CONFRONTING WITCHCRAFT

Witchcraft is a very wicked spirit and anywhere you find the spirit in operation, there will be curses, hardship, manipulation of destinies, distortions, perversion (as a matter of fact, it is one of the greatest agents of perversion), perversion of destiny, miscarriage of blessings, miscarriage of destinies and so on. The effect of witchcraft operation is so obvious yet many people are oblivious of it. Unfortunately, it is multiplying because you cannot change what you tolerate.

There are different types of witchcraft operations: there is familiar witchcraft, ancestral witchcraft (paternal, maternal and matrimonial), territorial witchcraft, environmental witchcraft, neighbourhood witchcraft, business or corporate witchcraft and charismatic witchcraft (this is the witchcraft that operates in the Church). The worship of mammon, which people celebrate today, is idolatry of the highest order. Every form of perversion is corruption. Perversion of justice, nepotism, despotism, opportunism and so on are all offshoots of corruption.

There is a form of witchcraft which operates very subtly even in the Church. Writing to the Galatian Church, Apostle Paul states in Gal. 3:1 “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth”. Apostle Paul was writing to the Galatian saved, spirit filled Church but they were bewitched. Any power, personality, or anything that makes you to twist the word of God is bringing you under the power of charismatic witchcraft. You must destroy witchcraft before it destroys you. One of the things that witchcraft specializes in doing is making nonsense out of genuine effort. This is the reason why you see some people who were so accomplished just a few years ago now living in deplorable conditions. Something happened. You must deal with witchcraft and establish dominion over it. Any time you make a stupid decision not to obey the word of God, it is bewitchment; even at the point of choosing between two options, with the good one very glaring and obvious, the person will still choose the wrong one.

The Greek word translated bewitched here means “to bring evil on a person or to mislead by an evil eye”. Evil eye certainly is a manifestation of witchcraft. Observe that these Galatians were saved and spirit-filled and yet they were under the control of an evil eye. Witchcraft, in this sense, is the control of other people through manipulation or intimidation for the purpose of domination. Take note that whatever controls your mind controls you. Most people who come under this form of witchcraft influence do not even know that they are because it is very subtle in nature. In 1 Kg. 13:11-22, we saw how a very young promising prophet was bewitched by an old prophet, the young prophet was under bewitchment and that was why the old prophet was able to control him. There are millions and millions of people today who are under serious charismatic bewitchment and the easiest way through which this charismatic witchcraft operates is through false prophets. If you are still in the habit of looking for someone to see vision for you, you are in a very serious mess. Don’t let anybody manipulate you by telling you what you want to hear and thereby lead you astray. It is your responsibility to develop a personal, close relationship with God; it is your responsibility to tune to the frequency of heaven so that God himself will lead you. The bible says “As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God”. Rom. 8:14. It is your responsibility to hear. Do not allow anyone see or hear for you.

Any form of rebellion is also witchcraft and you must understand this because it is very prevalent today, many people want to have their way. I Sam. 15:23 says “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king”. It can be deduced from the above that where you have stubbornness, you have idolatry and where you have rebellion; you have a manifestation of witchcraft.
