SEVEN TOXIC ATTITUDES TO AVOID IN THE WILDERNESS IX

Avoid the following toxic attitudes like plagues if you want to have victory in the wilderness: –

6. Anger.
Remember that it was anger that stopped Moses, the meek, a wonderful leader and prophet of the living God, man of God per excellence, from making it to the Promised Land. The Bible says, “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools” (Eccl. 7:9). Anger is a toxic attitude. The Bible says, be angry but sin not. Anger, if you allow the Holy Spirit guide you, can be channeled to produce positive results. You can get so angry that you can determine that you will never be poor. I usually get so angry (holy anger) whenever the devil tries to mess up around me or around people who are committed to the things of God. In fact, that was what propelled me into the deliverance ministry. Learn to channel your anger against the enemy and your love towards God. Don’t ever allow your anger to push you to sin. Whenever you are angry, learn to control your emotion. Submit your emotion to the control of the Holy Spirit. It is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit called temperance or self control. Meekness is not weakness. The true definition of meekness is power under the control of the Holy Spirit. You are a very powerful person but you decide to submit your will to use that power to the Holy Spirit. Get angry when the enemy is trying to encroach into your territory and draw the bloodline. You can never change what you tolerate. Do not park in the wilderness because anywhere you park has become your Promised Land. God has a better tomorrow for you. Get angry enough to get there. Don’t settle at your present location so you can qualify for what God has in store for you.

Pray –

  • Lord, help me never to sin against you. Any emotional outburst that will make me sin against you, today, I ask you to intervene. Grant me the grace to commit my will to your will and to submit completely to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • I submit my emotion, my will, my initiative and the entirety of my personality to the control of the precious Holy Spirit. I ask that you move through me, work through me, thank you mighty God in Jesus’ name.
  • From today, help me to be angry but never to sin. Help me to be angry against the enemy. Help me to hate what you hate in the name of Jesus and grant me the grace to channel my anger to positive benefits. Thank you blessed Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
