Vital Lessons from the Wise Men

3. Determination.
Quality decision will produce determination and singleness of purpose in you. The wise men determined to find out where Jesus was and to worship him. That was their mission. What a noble mission! The Bible didn’t tell us how long it took them to get to Jesus. There was no aircraft then. It must have been a tortuous journey from the east through the wilderness. They were, however, undeterred. That is what it takes to walk with God. Determination proceeds from quality decision. It takes quality decision to walk hand in hand with God.

Pray –

  • Lord, I have decided, I am determined. Help my determination in the right direction to make heaven, to seek you, to fall in love with you, to be all that you want me to be, to worship and celebrate you. Jesus, I have determined, like the wise men to seek you. Help me Lord. Help me never to waiver in my determination to seek your face. Amen.

4. The wise men were discerning.
It takes discernment to disarm an adversary. If they were not discerning, they would have played into the hands of an enemy who wanted to kill Jesus. It takes discernment to know when someone is lying to you. It takes discernment to know the heart condition, to judge not by what you hear but what is in the heart. Many people don’t say what is in their heart; it takes discernment to discover it.

Pray –

  • Lord, help me to be discerning. Grant me the grace to discern an adversary thousands of miles away and not to give information to an adversary that could be used against me.
  • Baptize me with the spirit of discernment this end time. Help me not to misjudge, may I not misfire, may I not misalign. Grant me the grace to align my will to your will. I am ready to be led by your spirit. Grant me the grace to submit to the leading of the precious Holy Spirit and your guiding light all the days of my life in the name of Jesus Christ.  Thank you blessed Lord, I pray. Amen.
