AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS THE HEALER I

Until your Christianity becomes experiential, it is easy to backslide. A lot of people do not even believe that it is possible to backslide because it negates the doctrine of ‘once saved, saved forever’. That is an error. It is not a doctrine of the Bible. Otherwise there will be no need to work out your salvation with fear and with trembling. All the advice that the apostles who walked with God gave would have been very irrelevant. God will not allow us to get into error in Jesus name. 

It is my prayer that we all have definite encounter with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It matters a lot. One encounter, to me, is worth billions of sermons. Until your Christianity becomes experiential, there may still be some doubt which the devil can capitalize on to work with his seed to derail, to defile, to distort, to steal, to kill and to destroy. That is why we need to press into the place where the word of God in our heart becomes life. We need to eat the word and let it become life to us. We have to move from seeing the Bible from the perspective of a story book to the very word of life, to the very compendium of life, to the very compass, to the very constitution of our lives, to the very life manual otherwise, the deceiver – the accuser of the brethren may still have something to hold unto.

One destiny life-changing encounter dissolves every doubt. You don’t recover from an encounter in a life time. If you study the story of Saul who became Paul, he set out to persecute the early Church  (a spiritual terrorist), but on his way to wreak havoc, to kill, to maim and do the work of his master, he had an encounter with the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the One who is, who was and is to come, the incarnate Word. The one who says, I am the way, the truth and the life. He was struck blind and he fell. When he rose up, the narrative changed. 

One of the things that an encounter does is that it transforms the person. Anyone who is set on the wrong direction that has an encounter with the light of God never remains the same.

There are scriptures that can lead you to have an encounter with Jesus, the healer. Do you want to have an encounter with Jesus? Stretch forth your hands and pray –

• Lord, I am here for you, manifest your fullness, show forth in my life. Reveal yourself to me as the healing One, reveal yourself to me as my healer. Reveal yourself to me; I want to have an encounter with you, a healing encounter, thank you Jesus. 
• No one who comes to you remains the same. I will never go back the way I came after my encounter with you. Heal me and make me a healing agent in this sick world. Transform my life and make me a transformer everywhere I go.
• May I carry so much light henceforth that wherever I appear, darkness will disappear in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen.
