2022/2023 OPERATION 18-18 – THE BEST WAYS TO CELEBRATE JESUS II (A MESSAGE DELIVERED ON 25TH DECEMBER, 2022)
Seven Best Ways to Celebrate Jesus:
1. Fall in love with Jesus.
“Herein is my love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
1 John 4:10 KJV
1 John 4:19, “We love him, because he first loved us.” We have to fall in love with him because he first loved us. Christian maturity is nothing but falling in love over and over again with Jesus Christ. That is the way to celebrate and grow in him. Christian maturity is being so fanatically in love with him that the very idea of substituting that love for anything else does not even remotely exist. You breathe Christ, you think Christ, you walk with Christ. Christ is the hope of our glory. He is the essence of our living and the substance of our life. Just imagine how the world will be if everyone who goes to Church will really be a true child of God and behave like one. There will be no need for too much preaching, there will be revival all over the place. May God take us there in the name of Jesus.
Pray –
- Lord, help me to fall in love over and over again with you. Grant me the grace to fall in love with you in the powerful name of Jesus. Let my love for you grow; consolidate my love for you. Grant me the grace to grow in loving you more than I love anything else in the name of Jesus.
- Help me by your spirit, grant me the grace to walk with you, to live for you and to manifest you in every sense in Jesus’ name.
2. Obey him.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode in him.”
John 14:23 KJV
If you claim to love Christ, what is the evidence? You will keep his commandments. You will be a doer of all the things he represents. You will not struggle to do all the things he taught. As you do this as a practical demonstration of your love for Christ, something will happen; the Father himself will love you. The Father and Jesus Christ himself will come and indwell you, tabernacle over you and you will become a carrier of the presence of God. Imagine for a moment how the world will be if everyone who went to Church today to celebrate Christmas will go out there and truly be carriers of the presence of God. You can just imagine the number of miracles that would have happened today all over the place. There would be an explosion of the glory of God everywhere because of the power of the presence of God that moves mountains. Darkness will be driven away. Mountains will skip. Evil altars will be dismantled even without praying. The problem is that most people who go to Church don’t even think deeply about this enough to obey simple instructions. We rather allow other things occupy our attention – other things we seek, pursue and chase, other things we love above God in our hearts. That is what whittles down our advocacy, and reduces our evangelism. As such, the world begins to look at those who go to Church but do not see any difference, no power, nothing to show for it.
