FACTS ABOUT WHAT YOU CHASE

BE A GOD CHASER 1F

FOUR MAJOR THINGS THAT MEN CHASE

4. Fulfilment outside the purpose of God.
Act 17:28A, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being”. Amos 5:6A, “Seek the LORD, and ye shall live”. Psalm 16:4A, “Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god”. There is a hole or void that God created in the heart of everybody that only God himself can fill, the hole is God sized. It is only God that can fill that void. It was created to drive you towards God, to make you a God chaser. God put it there out of love for us. But instead of seeking God, people chase other things that are uppermost in their hearts.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth; For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”.
Colossians 3:1-3, KJV

What are you really longing for? What are you seeking? What is your heart panting after? Elevate your pursuits. Take note: –

    • What you chase is what you really love.
    • What you chase is what you have made your god.
    • What you chase will always be ahead of you.
    • What you chase determines how you will end; it determines the direction you are going.
    • What you chase determines your reward.
    • What you chase determines your stature; children go for toys, sons go for inheritance.
    • What you chase determines what you are going to have. Just as humming birds are attracted to sweet things, vultures are attracted to rotten things.
    • What you chase defines your stature in the realm of the spirit that is why I have made up my mind for the rest of my life to be a God chaser. How about you?

After breaking bread and fish with his disciples, Jesus asked Peter, “do you love me more than these?” (John 21). In other words, do you love me more than what you can eat? Do you really love me? He asked Peter these questions three times and each time Peter answered in the affirmative. Each time Jesus was trying to tell Peter that the only way I can be sure that you love me is if you change your purpose. Prior to this time, Peter told the other disciples, “I go a fishing”. So he was chasing fish. Jesus told Peter, feed my flock. Change your centre of gravity from self to God. Elevate your pursuits to higher levels.

Until the Church starts producing spiritual Christians, those who worship God in spirit and in truth, it will be difficult to differentiate the church from the world.

    PRAY –
    • Lord, please help me. You know my weaknesses.
    • Father, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, have mercy on me, have mercy on my family. In any way that I have pursued what should be pursuing me, in any way that I have turned my focus away from you seeking the things that should be seeking me, pursuing idols of the heathens, Father, please forgive me and cleanse me of all secret faults in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
