DAY 3 The Acceptable Fast
Text – Isa. 58:1-14 There are some principles in this scripture that we need to take note of. From vs 3-5, we see the kind of fast that is not acceptable to God and from verse 6-12, we see the kind of fast well pleasing to God. The fault with the first kind of fasting lies mainly in the motive and attitudes of those practicing it. What is your motive and attitude to this particular fast? God is interested in motives and attitudes. Fasting was mainly an acceptable part of religious ritual, the kind of fasting practiced by the Pharisees. HEAVEN – THE HEADQUARTERS OF LIGHT
We need to constantly and consciously purify ourselves in preparation for heaven; only God can take us there. 1 John 3:3, “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure”. Luke 21:34-36, “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. This is a very common thing; it happened even among the disciples of Jesus in Acts 12. After the arrest of Apostle Peter, the other apostles gathered together to pray for God’s intervention but they were praying without expectation. When Peter appeared at the door after his supernatural release, they never believed that it was Peter. The Bible says that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off, Prov. 23:18. There are always enough blessings to go round and God has specially prepared blessings…

HEAVEN – THE HEADQUARTERS OF LIGHT
We shall drop this body of corruption and take on a new body becoming like angels. 1 Cor. 15:35-50, “But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: but God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another…
