HOLY SPIRIT OUR SOURCE OF LIFE, STRENGTH AND POWER
O
When you cast out a demon, you create a space and if that space is not filled by the Holy Spirit, it is only a matter of time before the demon returns with other wicked demons. Jesus emphasized this in Luke 11:24-26.
- He helps us in discerning between truth and error. 1 Tim. 4:1, “But the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some of the church will turn away from Christ and become eager followers of teachers with devil-inspired ideas.” 1 John 2:20 & 27, “But you are not like that for the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you know the truth. 27 But you have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you, in your hearts, so that you don’t need anyone to teach you what is right. For he teaches you all things, and he is the Truth, and no liar; and so, just as he has said, you must live in Christ, never to depart from him.” If you don’t discern error, it is enough to derail the purpose of God for your life. May the purpose of God for your life never be derailed in the mighty name of Jesus. Error is like poison, a drop of it is capable to turning a good bottle into poison. It does not have to be loud for it to be efficacious. There are so many errors that are being spread all over, however, the worst error is the one that proceeds from the pulpit and if you don’t know the original, how can you discern the counterfeit? A lot of things are going on in the name of prophetic ministry. You need the Holy Spirit’s discretion and discernment. These are part of the seven pillars of wisdom. All that glitters is not gold! A close walk with the Holy Spirit will produce discretion and discernment in you over time.
- The Holy Spirit is our Strengthener. Micah 3:8, “But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, fearlessly announcing God’s punishment on Israel for her sins.” Phil. 4:13, “For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” Col. 1:29, “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” (KJV). Whenever your physical strength is ebbing, talk to God; commune with the Holy Spirit and ask him to strengthen you. There are so many spiritual mountains you cannot climb in your own strength, you can only do it through the strength the Holy Spirit gives. Any time you are embarking on a spiritual journey, you need the strength of the Holy Spirit because by physical strength shall no man prevail. How we need the strength of the Holy Spirit for the journey ahead. We need oil for the journey. The worst thing that can happen is to try to run on empty tank. Fresh from my MBA programme, after a very tedious time in the Theological Seminary where my eyes were strained and stressed, I was invited to minister in a Praise Night in an Anglican Church. They invited a lot of gospel artistes including a very popular Saxophonist. I prepared my sermon but I kept having the feeling that I might not be able to read my notes because of the strain in my eyes. Immediately the Saxophonist who happened to be a Pastor started blowing his saxophone in praise, I was taken to another level. When the microphone was handed over to me, I immediately went into prophecy for over an hour. The Holy Spirit did it, but it didn’t stop there. On getting home, I turned down an invitation to minister in another Church and decided instead to stay in the presence of God. As I reclined to bed, I was enjoying the presence of the Holy Spirit when I saw myself standing before the mirror in my bedroom with very red eyes and I saw something like a metal inside one of my eyes. I heard a voice say, ‘pull it’ so I put my hand inside the eye and touched a metal which I pulled out. What I pulled out looked like a coin which covered the entire eye. From that day till date, to the glory of God, I can read anything no matter how tiny. Anyone who is sick is weak, the Holy Spirit is a healing spirit. One of the ways to know where the Holy Spirit is at work is in the area of healing. Oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Ensure that you have oil in your home this year. Several miracles and healings have taken place in this ministry as a result of the move of the Holy Spirit. When you talk about strength, you talk about power; strength is from the inside while power is like an enablement. Acts 1:8, “But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection.” This means you will be an ambassador of Christ. A true witness will witness that Jesus loves you, he will lay his hands on the sick and they will recover. May the Lord use you as a healing agent this year in the powerful name of Jesus. Isa. 10:27 says, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Anointing not only destroys yokes, it lifts burdens.
