BLESSED BEYOND CURSE -[PART 9A] – EMPOWERED TO BE FRUITFUL

Text: Gen. 1:27-28 – “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

From this scripture, we can see that God’s original plan for man is to be fruitful; his mandate for us is that we be fruitful. Fruitfulness is a major part of man’s dominion mandate. A perfect man was created and placed in a perfect environment and was given only one law. According to the Living Bible, when God looked over all he had created, he pronounced them excellent in every way (Gen. 1:31). In other words, after God created everything, he took his time to survey his creation and he said ‘excellent’! When God said it is excellent, then it is excellent indeed. Everything God created was excellent including man; man was perfect. A perfect man was put in a perfect environment which was excellent.

Why was the environment excellent? It was full of fruits. God came and blessed them and told them to be fruitful, increase, multiply, have dominion and fill the earth with fruits. He told them to cover the earth with fruits. Today, when you look at every aspect of your life, can you say ‘excellent in every way’? We must produce fruits and our fruits must speak. Without fruits, there cannot be dominion. The dominion mandate cannot be fully actualized without fruits.

Fruit bearing here is not limited to having biological fruit, there are diverse types of fruits; there are relational fruits, spiritual fruits, fruit of the spirit, soul winning and so on. When we talk about barrenness, it goes beyond not having children; we are talking about the absence of comprehensive fruitfulness. If there is any area of your life where the enemy is having an upper hand and things are not adding up; for instance if you start a business and after six months you take stock and your net worth has dropped considerably, the meaning is that there is no fruit in it. Something has gone terribly wrong. That cannot be an excellent performance except you want to tell yourself a lie; some people actually do that anyway. They rationalize incompetence and make excuses for their failure.

PRAY:- Heavenly father I worship you. I thank you for your original excellent blue print for my life. Grant me the grace to live up to it in every way. Help me to be abundantly fruitful and grant that my fruits will abide in Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen.
