2021/2022 OPERATION 18-18 DAY 9B (GET YOUR PRIORITIES RIGHT I)
What is uppermost in your heart? What are you actually chasing? God takes note of that; what you are passionate about is what you chase. What you really love is what you pursue. Apostle Peter was a fisherman when Christ called him. After Jesus’ resurrection, he needed to settle it on a once and for all basis with Peter and so he asked, “Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?” In other words, do you love me more than these – do you love me more than the things that people chase; what to eat, what to wear and so on. Do you love me more than the miracles you have seen me perform? To appreciate the import, Jesus asked this question three times. Jesus told Peter, this is how I will know that you really love me, feed my lamb. Get about my business. You cannot continue in your business as usual and claim that you truly love me. The way you can convince me that you really love me is if you change what you are chasing. Shift your centre of gravity from lower pursuits to God. May God produce in us the capacity to be God chasers all the days of our lives in Jesus’ name. May we never settle for lower things which others chase. May we elevate our pursuits to the highest. The Lord will bless you as you do in Jesus name.
God is orderly. Even in creation, you will notice orderliness. What comes first matters to God. How you arrange things or prioritize is of interest to God, it shows how you treasure him. Where a man’s treasure is, there his heart will be (Matt 6:21).
God created a perfect environment and then created a perfect man in Gen. 1. If you take a good look at the order of creation, you will discover that everything was sequential and for a purpose. There was order in creation: the first problem God solved was that of darkness; let there be light. The living One, the One that is the light gave light and darkness disappeared. He then created a perfect environment; the light was the light of men. Then he created a perfect man whom he placed in a perfect environment. If God had created man first before creating a perfect environment, it would have been out of order. There was order in creation. After that, according to Gen 1:28: God blessed them, and said unto them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
