2022/2023 OPERATION 18-18 – (CONFRONTING BARRIERS III)

Although the devil loves to create barriers in the lives of believers, most barriers are self created. A lot of problems people go through are self induced. As a minister who has been in the ministry of deliverance for decades, I can say categorically that a lot or problems are self inflicted. Whenever an issue is self inflicted, the solution to it must be from the inward not outward. If therefore you are looking for solution to a self inflicted injury from the outside, the solution will not come. A person issue can only have a person solution. A place issue cannot have a person solution. This is wisdom and one of the reasons why so many problems linger.

I have come to realize that the greatest enemy of success is man himself most of the time. Sometime ago, I did a study in my bid to write a book on the Mystery of Un-accessed Blessings. The Holy Spirit took me through an excursion and it was mind blowing. I got more than two hundred factors responsible for un-accessed blessings. After taking a very close look at these factors, I discovered that over seventy percent of the factors were personal; things that could have been avoided.

It takes sincerity of purpose, honesty and integrity of heart to admit one’s mistake. If that is not there, even if you pray for a million years, there will be no solution because God hates the prayer of the hypocrite; God labels such a prayer as unclean (Job 36:13).

We are going to take a look at some of the factors that hinder the blessings of God. God is not stingy with his blessings but he will not violate his absolutes in order to fulfil man’s will. He cannot even violate the will of man in order to bless man. He cannot do it. God is constrained in many ways by His word.

If anyone tells you that ‘what God cannot do does not exist’, it is an indication that the person has not read the Bible properly. It is not true. There are many things that God cannot do. God does not do things arbitrarily.

“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.”

Ephesians. 1:11

God does things according to his will.

In the place of prayer, the first quality we should exhibit is honesty. Insincerity is one of the reasons why a lot of deliverance issues linger. There are about seven vital steps anyone who wants to be completely delivered is expected to take otherwise there will be no solution. God cannot come down to touch the mountains if the conditions are not met. In the place of prayer, what God desires most, according to Psa. 51:6 is truth in the inward parts.

Without honesty there cannot be humility. Without humility, there cannot be repentance. Today, a lot of people find it very difficult to kneel down before a holy God. This is ignorance of the highest order. Such people are only looking for a god they can send on errands. Any god who is your mate cannot be the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It must be a god you created! I want you to honour the almighty God. In many Christian gatherings you attend, you will see several people praying ‘God, bless me’. Meanwhile, God is speaking to them – Learn my order of things. “Learn of me”.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Psalm. 37:4

It is as simple as that.

• Father, I thank you for calling me out of darkness into the marvelous light of your dear son Jesus Christ. Open my eyes to behold wonderous things from your word, and grant me the grace to learn more of you, that I may know you in Jesus’ name, amen.
