DOMINION OVER DEATH VI

God is love. There are two dimensions of love; mercy and truth denoting the cross. It is because of his mercy that we were spared. God could have wiped away the corrupted stock because the truth side of God must judge sin. Looking at the snake, God gave that prophecy, the seed of the woman shall bruise thy head. God had to become man in order to die and pay the penalty for sin because the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Your salvation is not cheap. When people don’t understand this, they throw it away. It was man that sinned so man must pay the penalty. But which man will pay? Is it the stock that is contaminated with sin? Angels could not have paid because it was not an angel that sinned.

When was this prophecy fulfilled? Herein lies the wisdom of God. God needed the womb of a virgin. The son of God was to come by special conception; the Holy Spirit had to overshadow Mary for that seed of a woman to come. It is the seed of the woman because it had to go through conception, incubation and delivery. That was how God became one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man in order to save man. That is why whenever you talk about the blood of Jesus, Holy Spirit moves. After the birth of Jesus, Mary started having more children with her husband Joseph. Some denominations do not like to hear this but it is the truth.

That messianic prophecy was fulfilled on the cross. On that day, the seed of the woman bruised the head of leviathan. Leviathan had seven heads which he used to terrorize man, the most feared is the leviathan head of death. Death was defeated on the cross. The greatest symbol of dominion over death is the cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Celebrate Jesus.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”.

John 10:10, KJV

It is only in Christ that you have life in abundance. The opposite of life is death.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Colossians 2:14-15, KJV

Every hand writing of ordinance, every curse everything that came as a result of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden was taken away by one perfect comprehensive sacrifice; the blood of the guiltless. This is the greatest sacrifice ever because of the value of the sacrifice. The cross remains the divine prescription for everything that is evil on this earth. It is the symbol of reconciliation of fallen man to a loving God. It is the symbol of total liberation from the things that bind, hinder, fetter and the things that do not want you to be all that God wants you to be.
