RETURN TO THE ALMIGHTY 1C

Three major reasons why we should return:

1. It is a command.
Job 22:23. God does not have to waste words, he knows when you have drifted. As a pastor, I can discern when someone begins to drift. When I do, sometimes I put a call across which some people decline. If you follow the behaviour of some people, you may miss heaven. That is why you should not. True leadership is not cheap. If you are not ready to be misunderstood, don’t aspire to lead. Many of the people who go to Church today are very difficult to pastor. Such people end up cheating themselves because if God asks you to return, it is because he loves you. The Omnipotent says, return. Return to the almighty. This is a command and it is for your good. If we know how much we need God, we will be excited to embrace his call when he says, come. If the president of your country asks you to come, I am convinced that you will do everything within your power to do so.

2. It is the wisest thing to do.
Anyone who is not in the direction of God is not wise. Anyone who is not a God chaser is not wise. Anyone whose life is not theocentric is not wise. Any progress that is not in the direction of God, that is, progress that is not God-ward, is a progress to failure at last. May that not be your portion in the mighty name of Jesus. The wise still seek him. Think about it, the inexhaustible source of every good thing, the Father of light, the owner of the universe, the one that spoke the world into existence says, return. Meditate on the almightiness of God. That is one of the things I take delight in doing from time to time. God did not promise a tribulation-free world, Jesus said in the world you will have tribulation (John 16:33). He never promised anyone a red carpet. Jesus gave us power to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). You may be wondering – but where have I drifted? You may have drifted in the way you understand God, in the way you relate with him, in the way you connect to him. It is so easy to see the hand of the devil instead of seeing the hand of God. It is a choice. Part of returning is seeing the almightiness of God. If only you can return to the almighty, the all powerful, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient one. It is wise. If you meditate on the almightiness of God, the devil cannot intimidate you. It is important that our lives become theo-centric. It is so easy to run a self government; it is time for us to shift the centre of gravity of our lives from self to God.

Pray –

• Father, help me to shift the center of gravity of my life from self to you and to magnify and celebrate your almightiness in the name of Jesus.

Remember that what you magnify is what you magnetize. If you want to see the almightiness of God, celebrate his hand, celebrate his almightiness, that is what you will attract. You will see the move of God. If you see people who are enemy-centric, you will notice that they don’t have joy, they are usually very vengeful. Vengeance is not yours, if you are vengeful, heaven will not speak. It is a very slippery thing and a lot of Christians have fallen into that. When they fall into this, unknowingly to them, they stop making progress; they start running round in circles. If you get into the realm of God, you will not misstep.
