BLESSED BEYOND CURSE (PART 2B)

1 Pet. 1:3-5, “Blessed be God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time”. What a wonderful thoughtful Father we have! We lost it when Adam lost it, we missed it when Adam missed it. We were lost, on the way to hell but it pleased God to beget us again by sending his Son to die for us, planting him as a seed so that he might have a harvest of sons. God has always been interested in relationship with man, he desired fellowship with man. He said, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness” (Gen. 1:26), but man began to take God for granted. Man elevated the word of a snake above the word of God. What the devil wanted at all cost was what man got without even asking for it.

Remember that in the five ‘I wills’ of satan, one of them is ‘I will be like the most high’. That is why the devil hates you, he hates you because what you have is what he wanted to have but he could not get. What he wanted at all cost was what God gave to you. That is why he is ready to offer you anything to get it. If you don’t understand this, you will not treasure what you have, you will not treasure your relationship with God and you will leave what you have because there is something called the law of attention or the law of placement of value. What you don’t value will take a walk from you and go to where it will be celebrated.

God has blessed us beyond anything. Everywhere you find the relationship between God and man, you find constant failure on the part of man; you will find the nature of Adam who never valued what he had. Adam never repented when he fell, instead, he started passing buck. And that was where buck-passing originated. Thank God that he is God, he went ahead, in spite of the failure of man; the love side of God decided to give man a second chance. Salvation is free but not cheap; it cost God his very best. It was the fall of man that brought curse; sin is the origin of curse.

Pray: Dear Heavenly father I worship you. Thank you for the wonderful gift of salvation. I celebrate your love for me, and ask you to grant me the grace to always place more value in my relationship with you than anything else. May your name forever be praised in every facet of my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen

TO BE CONTINUED.
